Uncontrolled Anger 😠

Uncontrolled anger might not seem serious, but anger is found to be one of the hardest things to control. A person loses their sense of reason when they get angry and end up making regrettable decisions. Anger is one of the most common reasons behind destroyed marriages according to the most widely read newspaper PUNCH.
A person is making YouTube videos and he/she is barely getting any views. After a couple of months, they might get frustrated and angry that they don’t have any progress with their videos and they end up quitting. This can apply to mostly anything like your business failing, not getting promoted in time at your job, not getting accepted into your favorite university, and so on…
Mohamed, the prophet of Islam, once said that power is not determined by one’s ability to wrestle. Power is measured by one’s ability to control their anger.
To control one’s anger doesn’t mean to not get angry, but rather direct the anger energy in a positive way. To be successful a person needs to be able to control their anger.

So, anger might actually be a weakness and a cause of disasters.

2 things to do to start controlling your anger:

Look at it this way, who is in control? The outside events or you? Do you become happy when things are going well, and are you mad when things aren’t going so well? Ideally, it should be that when you are happy it is because of you and when you are unhappy it is only because of you. The outside has an effect but it is not in control.
So, I guess it’s not you in control, which is mostly the case for a lot of people. It takes self-awareness to be able to take control. You might always have to get up early and you have an alarm ⏰️ set to wake you up. After some time, don’t you realize that you start waking up minutes or even seconds before the alarm goes off? That is your brain 🧠 adjusting. So basically using self-awareness to stop uncontrolled anger is pretty much the same thing. If you read my post on changing bad habits, you know what I mean.
You are putting in your mind that you don’t want to get angry, you don’t want the situation to affect you, and you are the one that will affect the situation. This will create an alarm in your brain 🧠. Anger is not allowed 🚫. And as time passes, just like the alarm clock, you will start to catch yourself in situations before you get angry 😑. Then you will be in control! πŸ˜‰ It will be up to you to either continue getting angry or choose to do something else instead.

Be patient

We are advised to have patience when a situation is out of our control. This means if a situation has already happened and there is no way for you to go back and change it or a situation is happening and for it to change it is up to someone or something else.
Patience could definitely be the opposite of anger or getting angry.
If someone cuts you off on the road you can either get angry or have patience and think of a good reason for why that happened. Or If you are not getting enough views on your YouTube videos, you can either get mad and quit or have patience and think about how to improve your video quality.
It might seem complicated which is why anger control is a measure of strength, but when you look at the actions of patience it is doing something that will benefit you.
What benefit will you get from storming past the car that cut you off and saying disrespectful comments? Or quitting your YouTube after all that hard work you put in?
